Black Rifle Coffee Company is a veteran owned company based in Salt Lake City, Utah, that employ almost 50% of their staff from former veterans. The company has always shown its support for America, the military, law enforcement and guns. Unfortunately, some of these things are not supported by many in America, which unfortunately can cause many to not support a business whose value proposition is based on those things. To that the company has always stayed tried and true to their vision and have grown off those who support the reason they are in business. I appreciate this about the company and if I were their brand manager, I would also support the vision of the company, because this is the basis for which they were founded. The founders of Black Rifle Coffee are former Green Baret Evan Hafer and former Army Ranger Mat Best. Other top management in the company are also former military. BA 223 - Marketing in the News Blog The article that I chose on MarketingWeek discussed Volkswagen's use of marketing effectiveness to change the focus on their company from one of emissions scandal to a globally friendly and conscious organization. Over the past two terms, I took two sustainability courses at OSU, which made me more aware of the challenges facing our environment and how many big businesses have not seen the seriousness and magnitude of their actions on the global impact on our planet and environment. My name is Riley Masters. I am currently a sophomore that is dual enrolled at Oregon State University and Linn Benton Community College with plans to earn a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. I am considering expanding my degree and working towards my marketing or management degree.  I am taking this marketing course because it is a credit requirement for my Bachelors in Business Administration and I am interested in possibly pursuing a double degree in Marketing as well. I am also taking this course because I am hoping it will help give me a clear understanding whether marketing is a degree and profession I am interested in pursuing. I am really excited to learn about the process of marketing as well as being able to open my eyes to strategies and new approaches not just to marketing but business and life in general.
